Mercy Housing California has completed work on 600 Seventh, a new affordable housing complex in SoMa.
Located at the intersection of 7th and Brannan Streets, the project consists of an eight-story building featuring 120 units of permanent supportive housing above 4,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. The apartments are to be rented to households earning 80% of San Francisco’s median income, according to a landing page on the Mercy Housing California website.
“600 Seventh demonstrates that San Francisco can truly be a city for everyone,” said Mercy Housing California president Tiffany Bohee in a press release. “By combining affordability, quality design, and comprehensive services, we’re proving that real solutions to the housing crisis are possible. Together, we’re building stability, opportunity, and a sense of belonging in SoMa. We are deeply grateful to the City of San Francisco and ECS for their partnership in making this vision a reality.”
Santos Prescott + Associates designed 600 7th, while Suffolk Construction and Guzman Construction Group built the mixed-use project. The complex includes two courtyards, a community room, and shared indoor spaces such as study areas and game rooms.
Mercy Housing will manage the property, while Episcopal Community Services and the San Francisco Department of Public Health provide onsite supportive services.
Financial support for the project came from J.P. Morgan Community Development Banking and Enterprise Community Partners.
